“Get Ready for IECC 2015”

Topic Description:

A brief overview of the changes that the HVAC industry is facing with new codes. The 2015 IECC effects all areas including HVAC, Lighting, & Commissioning. This presentation covers the basics of the new code and will develop into a conversation for those in attendance to be better educated in the subject matter.

Presenter: Josh Gentry, P.E, ESTES MCCLURE 

Upon graduation from University of Texas at Tyler, Josh joined the EMA team. At EMA, Josh has provided many school HVAC designs and served as a Project Manager. His projects include working with architects and directly for school districts as the prime professional. Josh also has experience in whole building commissioning process.   Josh’s expertise includes complex HVAC design, managing the commissioning process on projects including HVAC and controls systems, energy consulting and client relations.   As Director of Consulting Services, Josh oversees all aspects of the Commissioning, Energy, Sustainability and Facility Assessment services of the firm.

“Energy Code Compliance Overview”

This session will focus on complying with the energy code and how codes/standards are developed. There are three ways to show compliance under the current international codes and each option will be explored in more detail. Additionally, the main differences between ASHRAE 90.1-2013 and IECC 2015 will be discussed to give designers a better idea of which path is right for particular projects all while maintaining proper health, safety, and welfare of projects. Lastly some common design interpretation questions and answers about the code or standard will be given.
